  • What are my options for getting a hearing aid?

There are three ways in which you can obtain a subsidy for the price of your hearing aid.

Free treatment in a pool scheme in the public sector:

If your specialist doctor is able to do so, in some cases he can offer treatment with free public hearing aids of the same type that you would be able to get at a public hospital - this is called a pool scheme.

Charlottenlund Private Hospital does not currently offer the delivery of devices in a pool scheme.

    Referral to public hospital department:

If you want treatment at Hillerød or Bispebjerg hospital, we can offer you a referral for free treatment.

    Private treatment:

The best devices with public subsidy

If you choose to receive private treatment, you can buy the devices with a public subsidy at Charlottenlund Privathospital. The subsidy is given if it is the first time you need hearing aids - or if it has been more than 4 years since you last got hearing aids. The public subsidy currently amounts to DKK 6,557. for treatment with two hearing aids, and you do not have to pay for the price without a subsidy. We take care of all the paperwork in connection with grants, applications and the like. For further information regarding subsidy rules, we refer to the Danish Health Authority's website

  • Why should you choose to buy private hearing aids?

    1. Better quality of the hearing aids

When you choose private treatment, you get access to the latest and most advanced hearing aids on the market, from recognized brands such as Widex, Signia and Bernafon. These devices are designed to give you the best sound quality and comfort, and they have many advanced features that can be adapted to your individual needs. In contrast to the public clinics, where the devices are often of a more standardized type, in private treatment you get the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of models and technologies that best match your lifestyle and hearing needs.

    2. Shorter waiting times and faster processing

One of the major disadvantages of public clinics is the long waiting times – both for the initial examination, delivery of hearing aids and subsequent adjustments and service. Private treatment means that you can get a quick answer and you don't have to wait for several months before you can get help. At Charlottenlund Private Hospital, you can get tailored treatment quickly and efficiently, without long waiting times.

    3. Personal and continuous service

At Charlottenlund Private Hospital, you get personal advice and service throughout the treatment. You get direct access to experienced audiologists who can adapt the hearing aids to your exact needs. There is also the possibility of ongoing adjustment and follow-up, which is particularly important when you need help fitting the hearing aids optimally. In the public systems, there is often a more standardized service, and it can be more difficult to get the individual attention and service that may be necessary for a good result.

    4. No long transport time

Many public audiology departments are located far away, which means long transport times to and from Hillerød or other clinics. This can be both time-consuming and cumbersome, especially if you are hearing impaired and need more frequent adjustments and servicing. At Charlottenlund Private Hospital, you avoid long transport journeys, as we are closer to you and offer treatment in a comfortable, local setting. This makes it easier to get the necessary follow-up and support without extra travel time.

    5. More flexible opening hours and shorter waiting time for follow-up

Private treatment gives you flexibility in relation to when and how you receive treatment. You can find time for consultations and follow-up that fits into your calendar, and there is generally a shorter waiting time for appointments and follow-up. At public clinics, the opening hours are often more limited, and it can be difficult to find a time that suits you.

    6. Increased comfort and better experience

At a private hospital like Charlottenlund Privathospital, you get a more comfortable and personal treatment where you can feel in safe hands. You will experience a more relaxed atmosphere without stress and bustle, and you will receive a more thorough and attentive service. It makes the whole experience of receiving hearing aid treatment more pleasant and effective.

Overall, private treatment is an investment in both your quality of life and your hearing system. You not only get better hearing aids, but also the necessary follow-up, flexibility and service that make a big difference in your everyday life. Although it costs a little extra, it gives you a significant improvement in your hearing and a better overall experience that is worth the investment.

  • I have unanswered questions...

Call our reception during opening hours and ask to be called by our audiologist who will be happy to answer questions both before, during and after your treatment. It's completely free!

Hearing aids: Prices without subsidies

You can, of course, also buy the hearing aids without subsidy, if you are not entitled to public subsidy. The price will therefore be more expensive, corresponding to the public subsidy (DKK 6,557).
